As the current pulled me down, down beneath the waves, I began to forget how to get back to the surface, I began to forget who I was.
Soon, I was just a thing, floating in the midst of nothingness, a human being, but not a person. After all, what is a person if nothing lies beneath? How can you be something, if you don't know what that something is?
As I hit the bottom, everything disappeared. Nothing was left but an empty shell, all alone and afraid.
I stayed in the water, I didn't resurface.

The urge I had to run up to the front of the classroom, tilt his neck carefully, lay my lips on his skin softly, and suck the blood out of him until he could stand no more, was killing me faster than I have could ever kill a human.
Sure enough, I would not be the only one present to watch this feeding take place. All around me, wherever I looked, I could see them. There blood pumping through their veins, the sounds of their hearts beating. Their succulent necks, in which I could dig my fangs and drink like I never had before.
But no, I had to restrain myself. I was not like them, the fledged vampires. I was different. I was
